Times are changing and art is alive. The word contemporary should not be considered foul language in the art world as this would be snobbery (in a post Waterloo sense) and therefore, sans noblesse, which art has never been and shall never be. To make a musical analogy, Bach was a victim to his changing world. Thankfully, Mendelssohn came along and remedied the situation, albeit, much later. We shall never leave Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi out in the cold. Much in the same way, we do not intend to leave out Steve Reich, Laurie Anderson nor Peter Gabriel, for that matter! The fact is that art was marketable then and it is marketable now. As long as somebody is creating something of impact and quality there shall be somebody eager to posses it.
